Opihi Nui Kōʻele Necklace
Kōʻele or Opihi Nui ,hand picked on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. Highly sought after as a delicacy and for itʻs large shell often used to make adornments like this necklace. It takes many hours of sanding and polishing to get through the outer layers. A clear coat as been applied as to bring out its natural beauty and for added protection. The Opihi measures at approximately 6” in height. There is a 4mm Hawaiian Heirloom bail secured at the top of the shell with a 3.5mm 14 karat gold filled rope chain 22” running through it.
